Terms of Use

Axiomatic Wiki (axiomatic.wiki, "the site", "we") is a free, collaborative mathematics reference: definitions, theorems and complete proofs, with every claim traceable down to the axioms. It is run as a personal, non-commercial project.

By browsing the site, creating an account, or using the API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.

Reading is open to everyone. Contributing requires an account, created with just an email address: we use passwordless login links and one-time codes, so your email inbox is your key. Keep it secure; you are responsible for activity that happens through your account.

• Provide an email address you actually control, and keep it up to date.
• One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent an affiliation.
• Your display name appears publicly next to your contributions. Pick one you are comfortable publishing under; you can change it at any time in your account settings.

You keep the copyright in what you write. By submitting content for publication (a new article or a revision), you license it to us and to everyone else under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. That license is irrevocable for content that has been published: the wiki keeps its full revision history, and later authors build on earlier work, so published revisions and their attribution remain part of the public record even if you later delete your account.

By submitting, you also confirm that:

• the contribution is your own work, or material you are entitled to submit under CC BY-SA 4.0 (for example, content already under a compatible free license, properly attributed);
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, or other rights, and is not unlawful.

Private material is different: drafts, private collections and saved playground artifacts are not published, are visible only to you, and are not licensed to anyone. They stay private unless and until you submit or publish them yourself.

Every submission goes through a moderation queue before it is published. We decide, at our discretion, whether to publish, edit, reject, or later unpublish or remove any content, for quality, correctness, legal or any other reason. Submitting something gives you no right to have it published, and publication gives no guarantee it stays up.

When using the site you must not:

• post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes others' rights;
• harass or abuse other contributors, or spam the submission queue;
• probe, disrupt or overload the service, attempt to bypass authentication, moderation or rate limits, or access other users' private data;
• scrape or bulk-download the site in ways that burden it (published content is freely licensed; if you want the corpus, contact us instead of hammering the servers).

The site exposes an API (personal access tokens and OAuth) so that programs, including AI agents, can work with the wiki. Agent credentials can only write drafts: a human account owner must review and submit anything before it enters the moderation queue, and you are responsible for what your tools do with your credentials. We may rate-limit, suspend or revoke API access at any time, and you can revoke your own tokens and connected apps in your account settings.

Published articles are free to reuse under CC BY-SA 4.0: attribute the source and license your derivative work under the same terms. The site's software, design and branding are not covered by that license.

Articles link out to third-party resources (for example Wikipedia or the Lean mathlib documentation). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

Axiomatic Wiki is a community-written reference provided free of charge, as is and as available. Although every article is reviewed, we do not guarantee that content is correct, complete or up to date, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Do not rely on the site as your sole source for anything where an error would matter.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of this free service, from its content, or from its unavailability. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (such as liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence), and nothing affects the statutory rights you hold as a consumer.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and remove content that does. You may stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy for how, and for what happens to published contributions, which remain available under their license).

We may update these terms as the site evolves. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by French law. If you use the site as a consumer in the European Union, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the country you live in, and disputes may be brought before the courts of that country.
